An old friend of mine is in need of help. She and her husband Richard have 2 adult adopted children and 1 adult child, Curtis, who is severely autistic and cannot care for himself. Cathy is tethered to Curtis on their small plot of land in the middle of nowhere Texas, 20 miles from civilization. Her husband, Richard, suffered a heart attack and passed away on his way to visit his relatives in Oklahoma. Cathy was recovering from a long fight with breast cancer, chemo, then a double mastectomy. Additionally, someone had to stay home to care for Curtis so she didn't go on the trip. Richard's wishes were to be cremated. His brothers decided to take him to a funeral home instead of turning his body over to a crematorium for preparation and transport of his remains back home for a funeral service. He was embalmed before cremation because the brother felt the need for a viewing in Oklahoma. Cathy, under stress from his death, chemo, and surgery, etc didn't understand that she was totally responsible for the mortuary services and funeral. She has lost her husband of 40+ yrs who was the only wage earner. She now has no vehicle and at 61?, with an autistic child, no hope of gaining employment. She needs help to pay for 9k funeral that she was unable to attend. A good friend Terri set up a go fund me page on her behalf. Please consider donating
