Proceeds support the Hopkins Education Foundation & Hopkins Schools Mainstreet Day Arts & Craft Fair is sponsored by Hopkins Education Foundation and is held annually in May in downtown Hopkins. This growing event welcomes nearly 250 vendors offering a variety of homemade crafts, woodworking, art, clothing, garden décor, and more. There's also free entertainment, games for the kids, and some of the best food trucks in the area. Hopkins Education Foundation (HEF) took over hosting the fair in 2025. HEF partners with the Hopkins Public Schools community to enrich students with new learning experiences and resources. Since 1995, HEF has awarded $3.9 million in funds to support Hopkins Public Schools students, teachers, and staff in their endeavors. All proceeds from Mainstreet Day will support the Hopkins Education Foundation's grants that kickstart learning in Hopkins Public Schools District 270. Mainstreet Day Arts & Craft Fair was founded in 1987 by JCI Hopkins (formerly Hopkins Jaycees), which sponsored the fair for 38 years.
