There are 9 poets representing their respective states in the adult category and 6 in the youth. Representing NC is Tiffany Lewis (YOUTH) and Kim D-termined M (ADULT). Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful, kind, patient, understanding, overworked, under appreciated...to the ones working 2 or 3 jobs, or the ones working double overtime on one job, to the ones who are doing double duty as mother and wife, to the ones who are doing double duty as both mom & dad - all in one. For every sleepless night with a sick child, or trying to make sure that your child's science fair project is done on time....even though your kid only JUST told you about it at dinner tonight and it's due first thing tomorrow....for every lullaby you sang, for every "child's 1st" that you made as special as possible...for every moment that you thought you would break at any second and yet you just kept moving.

Know that you are loved...each and every one of you. I hope that you have all had a happy and wonderful Mother's Day!!!
