Contradancers of Hawai'i

Contradancers of Hawai'i A monthly scheduled contra dance on Oahu Vaccinations: All participants must be vaccinated. No one who is unvaccinated may enter the hall.

With direction from CDSS (the Country Dance and Song Society, our national organization), to safely hold a dance while the pandemic is still ongoing, the following protocols will be followed:

1. Vaccinations must be up to date, including one booster (no less than two weeks prior to the dance). Vaccination card and ID (driver's license or state issued ID) will be checked at the first dance you att

end. If they're okay, you will go on a list of verified participants. Children are welcome if they have been vaccinated and are masked.

2. Checking in at dances: All participants must sign in. If you feel sick, please do not come to the dance. You will be asked to show ID at all dances so we recommend that you arrive early for check-in. Once you are a verified vaccinated participant you will not need to show your vaccination card. Hand sanitizer will be available at check-in.

3. Masking: All dancers must be masked when in the hall. Callers and musicians will mask as is feasible. KN95, N95 or surgical masks that cover the mouth and nose completely will be required. Other cloth masks will not be acceptable. We suggest that you bring a supply of extra masks for yourself. A limited supply of extra masks will be available. Individuals not wearing masks will be asked to leave the hall.

4. Food or Drinks: Water bottles will be allowed in the hall and participants may lower their masks while drinking. Due to the new floor, please immediately wipe up any spills and please do not set water bottles directly on the floor as bottles may sweat and leave a puddle on the floor. No other food or drink will be allowed in the hall.

5. Swinging: Respect individual's choice of swing
Please respect individual's right to choose whether or not to use a ballroom position swing or an alternate hand-hold swing
Tags or wristbands indicating swing preferences will be available

6. After the dance: If you begin to feel sick in the days following the dance, please email us right away

Parking is along the main roadway immediately in front of the building entrance. The dance is on the same level as the main entrance. Directions to the Dance Hall are on our website: contradancehi.weebly.com

This is a regularly scheduled dance event on all 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month. All dances are taught and new dancers are welcome. No experience is required. Come alone or with a group. No partner is required. Dress casual but wear no-scuff dance shoes different from the shoes you wear outside."

Lisa Gomes fiddle and Robert Bley-Vroman keyboard (usually on the first Friday)

Luck Penny: Abby Brown flute, Kurt Jones fiddle, and John Kahle guitar (usually on the third Friday)
