You can feel the energy on Kalākaua Avenue from a mile away 🎆

The Kalākaua Merrie Mile returns on Saturday, December 12, 2026. One mile through the streets of Waikīkī on a closed course, starting on Monsarrat by Kapiʻolani Park and finishing at Queensʻ Beach where the post-mile celebrations are waiting 🥳

Everyone will set off in waves before the world-class elite chase race rounds off the morning. Olympians and world champions on the same course you just covered. Not bad for a Saturday morning 🤷♂️

Honolulu Marathon Weekend is December 12-13, 2026 - and there is nothing quite like it. The weekend kicks off on Saturday December 12 with the Kalākaua Merrie Mile, a one-mile run through the heart of Waikīkī.

Then on Sunday December 13 at 5:00am, the JAL Honolulu Marathon and Start to Park 10K both get underway with a full fireworks display lighting up the Honolulu sky.

26.2 miles through paradise. Past Diamond Head, along the coast, and all the way back to a finish line in Kapiʻolani Park, Waikīkī. No time limit, no qualifying time, no lottery. Just open roads, ocean views, and Aloha Spirit from the first step to the last!

The Honolulu Marathon Weekend is December 12-13, 2026 - and yes, it really is as good as it looks.

Here's what you're signing up for. The weekend kicks off on Saturday December 12 with the Kalakaua Merrie Mile, a one mile run along Kaläkaua Avenue in the heart of Waikiki. A perfect warm-up for what's to come.

Then Sunday December 13 at 5:00am, 26.2 miles through paradise begins. The start line lights up with a full fireworks display as thousands of runners and walkers head out into the early morning streets of Honolulu, past Diamond Head, along the coast and through some of the most beautiful scenery you'll find anywhere in the world.

Not a marathon runner? The Start to Park 10K sets off at the same time, covering the first 10K of the marathon course and finishing in Kapiolani Park.

No time limit. No lottery. No qualifying time. Just Aloha Spirit from start to finish - and malasadas waiting for you at the end 🌺

After an incredible day at the Boston Marathon, there are two names that we have to highlight!

A massive congratulations to past Half Marathon winner, Sharon Lokedi () who won the Boston Marathon in a blistering time of 02:18:51!

Another shoutout goes to our reigning JAL Honolulu Marathon champion, Calli Hauger-Thackery () who ran an incredible time of 02:43:58 whilst being 22 weeks pregnant!

An amazing display by both athletes who we’re proud to have as our alumni! 💪
