90% of people were sure that COUNTRIES pay tariffs. It would be a truth if companies buy products from countries, for example, Chamber of Commerce like it was in USSR.
Nowadays, companies buy from companies. When American company buys flooring from factory, the US custom clearance office sends the bill to US company to pay. US Custom clearance office doesn't send bill to any government directly. Journalists were trying to verify that president knew this during the conference, but he repeats like mantra that countries pay tariffs. The question, he knows or doesn't know, or he forgets or he worries about this, stays open.
Instead of thoughtful plan of transformation and transition, we have painful gambling experience with people's lives, money and future.
It took 2 years to negotiate conditions of agreement of trade for Trump's team in 2018. This time American people have have lost 6 trillions of dollars of 401k plans for 2 days, when market dropped.
People are shocked that there is no empathy and accountability from president and his team for evaporation of american people's savings for 2 days.
More shocked that no support from Congress. More shocked that we never had this situation for years. People react differently: some of them become numb ("the government knows better, I don't know anything"). Some of them are furious: so pi**ed off this amateur approach to the most important thing: people's lives. Some of them excited to wait how we will punish China for years of "ripping us". A lot of people are frightened that we have you live in this "mental house" for 4 years.
We have to connect and to unite. We will be strong, we will survive and do better for the sake of our people, for our future and our country!. This will be immunization shot for many years for both parties, for Congress, for us. PEACE AND KINDNESS for every family, every home and everybody on this planet!
