🏮Our community partner, Moiliili Hongwanji Buddhist Temple will be hosting Bon Dance Practices on June 4, June 11, June 18 (All Thursdays) from 6:30PM to 8:30PM in their social hall. They will have a retail popup from 6:00PM. Purchase Bon Dance merchandise, brush up on those dance moves and get ready for the season! First timers are welcomed too. Free & open to the public. 🏮

🏮 Bon Dance season is right around the corner! Save the dates and join us on June 4, June 11, June 18 (All Thursdays) for Bon Dance Practice at Mō‘ili‘ili Hongwanji Mission (902 University Ave.), in the social hall from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Please consider making a donation towards our Annual Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest, Honolulu’s largest Bon Dance! Your donation will go towards the production of the festival. The Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest is put on by Mō‘ili‘ili Festivals, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The 13th Annual Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest returns back home to 1100 University Ave. at the Waiānuenue ma Kapa’akea Parking Lot (the Old Varsity Building Parking Lot & Coyne St.) in the heart of Mōʻiliʻili on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 5:00PM to 10:00PM. Thousands are expected to celebrate this crowd favorite summer festivals honoring the historic Mōʻiliʻili district and Obon season featuring Honolulu’s largest Japanese Bon Dance of the season. This community planned annual event also includes a family-friendly modern street festival featuring a diversity of local food vendors, artisans/retailers, cultural entertainment, activities for the keiki and more.

For one extraordinary evening, more than 10,000 kamaʻāina and visitors gather to celebrate culture, cuisine, and community in one of Honolulu’s most historic neighborhoods. Each year, thousands of guests dance in Honolulu's largest Japanese Bon Dance of the season, enjoy delicious foods and visit a rich array of area retailers and artisans. There’s something for everyone from keiki to kūpuna!

Mōʻiliʻili Summer Fest is presented by Mōʻiliʻili Festivals, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, with support from Kamehameha Schools, Waiānuenue and community partners including the Moiliili Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i, the Moiliili Community Center, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
