The annual Duke Kahanamoku Ocean Festival (previously known as Duke's OceanFest) is held each year in late August on the shores of iconic Waikiki Beach, celebrates the life and legacy of Duke Paoa Kahanamoku. In the waters of his beloved Waikiki, Duke honed groomed his athletic skills to become an iconic waterman, Olympic Champion and a beloved Ambassador of Aloha. The ocean festival features a va
riety of ocean sports that were close to Duke Kahanamoku's heart, including longboard surfing, paddleboard racing, swimming, tandem surfing, surfboard water polo, beach volleyball, and stand-up paddling, and new events inspired by Duke and his family (foil and dog surfing).
