Holyoke Police Announce Public Safety Measures, Road Closures and Parking Restrictions for this Weekend's Road Race and Holyoke St. Patrick's Parade
Holyoke, MA – Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan announced Tuesday public safety measures, road closures and parking restrictions for this weekend’s Road Race and Parade.
The Holyoke Police Department thanks you in advance for your cooperation ensuring another safe and successful Road Race and St. Patrick's Parade.
The Holyoke Police Department wants to remind attendees that backpacks are strongly discouraged during the road race and parade days. In the interest of public safety, any unattended bags may be searched and removed. Also, no couches are allowed to be placed on the parade route as a space saver.
The Holyoke Police would also like to advise individuals that flying drones over the road race and parade route is strictly prohibited. Anyone flying a drone over the route will be subject to a city ordinance fine.
If individuals plan to bring gallon jugs filled with alcohol, commonly known as BORG’s, they will be confiscated.
Due to the number of residents and visitors who attend these events this weekend, we want to advise our community of several road closures and parking restrictions.
