Stavros Petropoulos’ feature film project PIRATELAND was awarded with the Discovery Days Jury Prize; Harry Lagoussis received an Honorable Mention for his project PHILOCTETES. The Discovery Days Awards were presented by Discovery Days Director Araceli Lemos and Producer Karina Logothetis. This year’s jury included Giulia Caruso, Director of Catalyst and Industry at Sundance; filmmaker Myrsini Aristidou; Film Independent’s Director of International Programs and filmmaker Louay Khraish; and award-winning producer Sarah Winshall.

Beyond the jury, the lab is supported by a wider network of mentors and experts contributing through screenplay feedback, round-robin meetings, workshops, and group sessions, including Chiara Atik, Ilana Coleman, Ersi Danou, Joel Garber, Pavel Jech, Prashanth Kamalakantan, Ki Jin Kim, Jesse Knight, Jane Casey Modderno, Terrie Samundra, Artemis Shaw, Elia Urquiza, and Colin West. Together, these artists and industry professionals reaffirm Discovery Days’ commitment to championing emerging international voices and fostering meaningful creative exchange.

BEARCAVE, Best Director, dirs. Krysianna Papadaki & Stergios Dinopoulos
DREAMING OF LIONS, Best Performance, actor Denise Fraga
PRELUDE TO A SUPERNOVA, Best Short Film, dir. Christos Artemiou
DREAM, Best Animated Film, Dir. Semiramis Mamata

Special Jury Awards went to director Amerissa Basta for LIFE IN A BEAT; actor Niovi Charalampous for her performance in SMARAGDA - I GOT THICK SKIN AND I CAN’T JUMP; the short film GEKAS by Dimitris Moutsiakas; and to the animated film POPPY FLOWERS by Evridiki Papaiakovou. Honorable Mention was received by Vangelis Mourikis for his performance in PATTY IS SUCH A GIRLY NAME.

The Audience Orpheus Awards went to Iconic Films’ BEST FRIENDS FOREVER by Konstantinos Mousoulis; and to THE SMOKER by Alexa Economacos.

Loyola Marymount University, Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts, Department of Classics and Archaeology Prof. Katerina Zacharia presented the inaugural LMU Social Justice Awards to the feature film MAYSOON by Nancy Biniadaki, and to the short film THE WOLVES RETURN by Stelios Moraitidis
