Can you believe we are celebrating the start of the 26th year of Random Movie Club this month!! It was difficult to find a movie we could stream with "26" in the title, so we compromised by watching BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25th CENTURY and an episode of The X-Files titled "PLUS ONE." We had a great meal at Barone's Famous Italian Restaurant beforehand, then headed back for the movie and special dessert. Thanks to everyone who has supported RMC all these years. We appreciate you!

For the 21st Anniversary of RMC we watched 21 DAYS TOGETHER, starring Laurence Olivier and Vivian Leigh. Laurence plays Larry, a man who accidentally kills the husband of Wanda, the woman he loves. As luck would have it, someone else is arrested, accused and put on trial, leaving Larry to struggle with his guilt. He decides that if the man is found guilty, he will turn himself into the police, leaving Larry and Wanda with 21 days together. But even with this great set-up and wonderful side characters, 21 DAYS TOGETHER lacks the suspense and thrills to keep you engaged. Luckily, we were there on Zoom to take care of that. This is the 7th Olivier film we've seen at RMC:

BIELSKI. TUVIA BIELSKI.

July 2020's ZOOM Random Movie Club was DEFIANCE, starring Daniel Craig. Based on the true story of the Bielski brothers during the Holocaust, it's gritty right out of the gate. Though at times cloying (as Edward Zwick movies are), it's an amazing story well told. After seeing their parents murdered, the brothers take to the woods. They started out with one gun and four bullets and, years later (and still in the woods) ended up with 1200 people (including an entire ghetto) fighting off tanks. With its serious and somber subject, DEFIANCE may have been the quietest RMC ever. Understandable. Good thing we had a half hour of yapping before the movie began.

Random Movie Club is having our very first Netflix Party with ZOOM! You don't know what movie we'll be watching until you join the Zoom meeting.

Arrive between 4:30 and 4:50 for the Preshow Chat.

At around 4:50 on the Zoom meeting, you'll get the code for the Netflix Party.
