We ask... "Kids at weddings"… adorable highlight or total nuisance? 💍✨

It’s one of the questions we hear all the time from our couples: “Are children welcome?”

The short answer? Yes.The longer answer? It’s completely personal—and it truly shapes the look and feel of your big day.

From what we’re seeing here at Wolfsburg Farm, couples typically fall into one of two camps:

- The family-focused celebrationďż˝
These weddings often include couples who may already have children of their own, or whose close friends and family do. The guest list naturally includes little ones, and the day takes on a warm, inclusive, family-centered atmosphere. Kids are part of the story—and the dance floor!

- The young, social, party-forward crowdďż˝
Think adventurous, wild & free, and ready to celebrate long into the night. Often, their friend group doesn’t include children yet, and the vibe leans more toward an adults-only experience with an upbeat, party-style energy.

There’s something undeniably sweet about seeing little ones dressed up, twirling on the dance floor, and proudly walking down the aisle as flower girls and ring bearers. They bring spontaneity, joy, and moments you simply can’t script.

But let’s be honest—tantrums during vows, sugar-fueled reception laps, and overtired toddlers past bedtime can test even the most patient crowd. For some couples, an adults-only celebration allows everyone to fully relax and let loose without distraction.

So where will you land on this wedding-day conundrum?

• Kids make it joyful and family-centered
• Adults only… let’s party!

No judgment here—every love story (and every guest list) is different. We’re just curious where you stand!

READ WHY - PICKING THE RIGHT VENDOR MATTERS.

When couples picture planning a wedding or special event, they imagine the big moments—the walk down the aisle, the first dance, the toasts, the laughter echoing across the barn. What they don’t always see is the team behind the scenes making it all happen.

Great events don’t just happen. They’re built by great vendors.

Each vendor invests weeks, days, and hours behind the scenes for your celebration—often while juggling a full season of events. Here’s why that matters.

Good Vendors Matter

At Wolfsburg Farm, we know every vendor plays a vital role in the overall experience. Your caterer sets the tone. Your photographer preserves memories for generations. Your florist creates the atmosphere. Your DJ or band shapes the energy of the night.

When vendors are reliable, communicative, and professional, everything flows. Timelines stay intact. Transitions feel seamless. Any hiccups are handled quietly.

Good vendors don’t just provide a service—they protect your experience.

Experience Is the Difference

At Free Spirits Events, with decades of production experience and hundreds of couples served, we’ve seen firsthand what experience brings to the table.

Experienced vendors offer more than talent—they bring foresight. They build realistic timelines, anticipate weather shifts, understand lighting and flow, and pivot calmly when the unexpected happens (because something always does).

Experience means confidence. It means fewer surprises and the ability to spot potential issues before they arise. It means you get to enjoy your day instead of managing it.

And when seasoned vendors have worked together before—that’s when the magic really happens. Communication is effortless. Setups run smoother. Everyone shares the same goal: creating an unforgettable experience.

The Power of the Right Venue

Even the best vendor team needs the right setting to bring it all to life.

Wolfsburg Farm offers more than a beautiful backdrop. It provides character, flexibility, and natural charm that elevate every detail—from ceremony to reception. Our Preferred Vendor List also gives couples a trusted starting point for building their team.

A great venue doesn’t compete with your vision—it enhances it.

Let’s talk affordability—it’s a big topic these days. With costs rising in every direction, many couples are asking a very valid question: Is it even affordable to get married right now?

One of the questions we hear most often is, “Are tables and chairs included?” The simple answer is yes. We provide black Chiavari chairs along with our custom-built farm tables for your guests. Two things to keep in mind:

1- This means one less rental item to worry about.

2- Our well-made, beautifully finished wooden farm tables don’t require linens, helping you save even more.

When searching for a venue, it might be the first look that catches your eye. It could be the space, the ambiance, or the overall feel. But for many couples, affordability plays a major role. Here at Wolfsburg, we aim to take as much off your plate as possible. We can even take over parts of the planning process, so you can focus on enjoying this special season.

If you’re looking for a venue that offers both a beautiful space and real affordability, we’ve got you covered. For more information on ways to save a few extra dollars for 2026–2027, reach out—we’d love to chat.

Why Many Wedding Venues Don’t List Pricing Online Explained.

If you have ever searched for a wedding venue and wondered, “Why can’t I simply see the price?” you are not alone. For most couples, securing the venue is the first and most significant decision in the wedding planning process. This article is not only about pricing transparency, but also about understanding why selecting the right venue early sets the foundation for a successful and memorable celebration.

Why Pricing Is Rarely One Fixed Number:
Many venues choose not to list pricing online because weddings are highly customized events. Factors such as guest count, season, day of the week, event duration, included services, and optional enhancements all influence the final cost. Displaying a single price can be misleading and may not accurately reflect a couple’s specific needs.
In many cases, a brief conversation—particularly around guest count—allows a venue to better assess requirements and provide more precise pricing. Some venues offer multiple spaces, such as indoor and outdoor options, which may share a base price but carry different operational or rental considerations.
For example, a venue may include tables and chairs for up to 100 guests. If a couple plans for 125 guests, additional rentals for furniture and linens become necessary, introducing variables that cannot be accurately priced without discussion. In some cases, adjusting the guest count may result in more favorable pricing or improved value.

The Value of Direct Communication:
In today’s digital-first environment, instant information is often expected. However, transparency through conversation remains one of the most effective tools in wedding planning. Venues aim to understand your vision, guest count, catering needs, and overall plans in order to provide accurate and comprehensive pricing.
A single conversation can clarify what is included, identify potential cost efficiencies, and determine whether the venue is the right fit—helping to avoid unexpected expenses later in the planning process.

Communication as the Foundation of a Successful Partnership:
Strong communication is essential to any successful relationship, and this extends beyond marriage to the vendors supporting your wedding day. Many couples planning weddings for 2027–2028 are entering into multi-year commitments with their venue and key vendors.
The professionals you choose play a critical role in your experience. Taking the time to discuss your vision, review inspiration boards, and align expectations ensures a collaborative and efficient planning process. These insights are difficult to gain through brochures or email exchanges alone.
Direct conversations reveal responsiveness, flexibility, and a vendor’s willingness to support your plans. For many couples, this personal interaction is what ultimately builds confidence and trust.

Pricing Inquiries as an Opportunity:

Requesting pricing information should never feel .....

Having a hard time finding that perfect venue and the right date? You are not alone. Here are 5 steps to consider when booking the perfect venue.

It's engagement season, and there are a lot of requests coming through for couples excited to make the first steps. Here are 5 practical tips for securing a wedding venue smoothly and confidently:

1 - Book Early (and Be Flexible)
Popular venues can be booked 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak seasons. If your date is flexible, you may have more options or better pricing for weekdays or off-season months. At Wolfsburg Farm, we have limited dates remaining for 2026, so get your request in soon to lock yours in!
2 - Set a Clear Budget First
Know your maximum venue spend before touring. Ask what’s included in the price (tables, chairs, linens, setup/cleanup) to avoid surprises and accurately compare venues. Here at Wolfsburg, we do our best to meet each couple with a fair base price and show them many ways to save. Don't be shy! Book a quick chat with us, and we can get you off to a great start in just 30 minutes.
3 - Confirm Capacity and Layout Options
Make sure the venue comfortably fits your guest count and offers suitable spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Ask about backup plans for the weather if it’s outdoors. Wolfsburg sits on 60+ acres of pasture setting, and we can accommodate up to 250 guests outdoors, or up to 100 in our historic Barn.

Chasing the Golden Hour: Planning Wedding Photos That Glow

Love is forever, and so are your pictures. Websites give you a glance at the aesthetic of some photographers' work, but having the space to be creative can give you so much more.

There’s a reason photographers obsess over the “golden hour.” That soft, low-angle light just before sunset flatters skin tones, adds warmth, and turns even simple moments into magic. Planning for it is key.

Start by checking your ceremony start time and sunset—then build in a 15–30 minute window just for photos. Coordinate with your planner so the cocktail hour flows smoothly while you sneak away. Scout locations ahead of time (open shade, clean horizons, reflective surfaces) and have a short shot list ready so you can move fast.

Most importantly, relax and enjoy it. Golden hour isn’t about stiff poses—it’s about movement, connection, and letting the light do the heavy lifting. A few quiet minutes together at sunset often become the images couples love most—and remember forever. ✨
Imagine what you can do with a Historic barn setting, nestled on a farm with 50 acres of clear-cut, rolling pastures, mountain views, sunsets, and endless possibilities. We also provide two golf carts for you to travel quickly and make the most of that Golden Hour. Wedding Décor with Purpose

Wedding décor sets the tone for your celebration, reflecting your style while creating meaningful memories. At Wolfsburg Farm, we encourage couples to consider décor choices that are both beautiful and responsible.

Our décor policy is simple—if you bring it in, please take it with you. This helps reduce unnecessary waste and encourages thoughtful, intentional design. We work closely with couples to create elegant spaces using items that can be reused, gifted, or enjoyed long after the celebration ends.

Sustainable décor ideas include recycled glass vases, live florals that can be shared with guests, potted plants, candles, seed packets, and locally made goods. Décor that doubles as a favor not only reduces waste but also becomes a meaningful keepsake for your guests.

We recommend avoiding single-use plastic décor, foam arrangements, battery-powered items, and bulk disposable purchases. Instead, consider renting décor, sourcing locally through Facebook Marketplace, thrift stores, or borrowing from friends and family.

Sustainable wedding décor doesn’t mean sacrificing style. With intentional choices and simplicity, couples can create a celebration that is elegant, personal, and environmentally mindful—leaving a lasting impression without unnecessary waste.
