Date has been set for the Hughes County Free Fair 2026!
September 1St -5th! Our goal is to have the best and biggest fair ever!
We are considering having vendors and food trucks!! Who would be interested in setting up at the fair? Give us your ideas for the fair!

Reminder if you had a premium check from the fair it needs to be cashed within 90 days of the date it was issued. We delivered all checks to the schools and took some open class checks to the extension office.

Dates have already been set for the Hughes County Free Fair 2026 and new activities are being planned.

I will take all fair premium checks for open fair entries and some 4-H entries to the extension office today. The checks are warrants and can only be cashed at First United Bank!
You have 90 days to redeem the checks.
Thank you to all who exhibited at our county fair!! Start now crafting, quilting and canning etc for the 2026 fair!

We had our first Miss Hughes County Fair this year and it was hosted by the Wetumka 4-H club. It was a great experience for all who participated! Our 2025 Miss Hughes County Fair Queen is Morgan Smith! She is from Wetumka High School and will represent our fair at several activities this year. She was present at the county fair on School Day. Congratulations to all the winners in each division and a big thank you to Kassie Ingle for organizing the event.

A big shout out and thank you to the Atwood and Calvin OHCE club members for helping with the county fair. They worked each day in the concession, in the indoor exhibit room, cleaned bathrooms, emptied trash and loaded out exhibits at the end of the fair!! Thank you for volunteering!!

CHILI COOKOFF TODAY THURSDAY, AUGUST 28th! ! PEOPLE’s CHOICE! Lots of good eating!! Prizes and plaques awarded but most important , bragging rights!!

BBQ contest-Ribs and Pulled Pork, plaques and prizes awarded. Bring by 5:00 to the expo center!!
