Save the date for the next gallery opening at the Walters on Tuesday, June 2 from 5 to 8 pm. The exhibition, Time & Place, features artists Jeff Jurrens, Clement Lee, and Christopher Mooney, exploring the environments that surround us.

Christopher Mooney’s paintings (left) of Oregon’s urban infrastructure fill his canvases, and equally present are the workers who build and maintain them, figures whose labor is usually absorbed into the finished object.

Clement Lee’s works (right) reflect what's below the surface: the visual language of utility markings, the spray-painted symbols and codes that indicate what runs beneath streets and sidewalks.

Jeff Jurrens' pieces (bottom) approach the built environment through abstraction, building up layered surfaces through repeated applications of paint, emphasizing painting itself as a form of construction.
