The fairgrounds are looking a lot brighter since last week! ☀️

Kids from the Great Expectations 4-H Club spent their evening rolling up their sleeves to plant brand new Water Trough Gardens right here on our grounds. Swipe through to see them in action! ➡️

This project was a true team effort! A massive thank you to Tractor Supply Company for being a major sponsor and supporting the purchase of the water troughs! 🙌

📍Where to find them: By Gate 5 during the Franklin County Fair, July 20-26!

Follow along with us this summer to watch these gardens grow, and be sure to check out Great Expectations 4-H Club to support more of their awesome youth projects!

The livestock shows at the county fair aren’t just events—they’re the result of months of hard work by 4-H members who have poured their time, energy, and heart into raising and caring for their animals. Every step into the show ring reflects responsibility, patience, and pride in a job done right.

From learning daily care routines to practicing showmanship and building a bond with their animals, these young exhibitors have earned every bit of the spotlight they step into today.

It’s more than competition—it’s growth, commitment, and the reward of seeing a year’s worth of effort come to life in the ring.

Come out and support our 4-H youth as they showcase what hard work truly looks like.

There’s nothing quite like the midway at a county fair after dark.

The sun goes down and everything comes alive in a whole new way—neon lights flickering to life, ride towers glowing against the night sky, and the steady hum of excitement in the air. You can hear the mix of laughter, music, and the distant whirl of rides spinning faster than they look possible.

The smell of funnel cakes, fresh popcorn, and cotton candy drifts through the crowd while games shout for attention and prizes sway from booth ceilings. Kids are running with glowing toys, friends are trying to win “just one more game,” and somewhere nearby a ride is dropping someone into a full scream of joy.

It’s chaotic, a little loud, a little crowded—and somehow exactly perfect.

On the midway at night, everything feels bigger, brighter, and just a little more magical than it did in the daylight.

❤️🎡 From the Franklin County Fair Board 🎡❤️

Every year, our volunteers show up with one mission in mind: the kids and 4-H.

At the Franklin County Fair, we believe the fair is more than rides, food, and entertainment—it’s a place where young people grow, learn, and shine.

Through 4-H programs, kids build confidence, responsibility, leadership, and lifelong skills. And our volunteers are proud to support them every step of the way—because watching them succeed is what makes all the hard work worth it. 🌱🐄✨

We do it for the memories being made, the lessons being learned, and the future being built right here in our community.

Thank you for supporting the fair—and for helping us support our youth. ❤️

🌟 Meet the Franklin County Senior Fair Board: Derek Vincent 🌟

🐖 Derek is serving his seventh year on the Board. He joined with a vision of improving the hog show through facility upgrades and stronger promotion to continue elevating the experience for exhibitors and families. By pounding the pavement to acquire donations and sponsorships, and through hard work and grit, Derek has helped make that vision a reality.

🙌 Derek is passionate about creating positive experiences for Franklin County families who participate in the fair, especially in the barn Andy Rice famously called the “Hog Mahall.”

🍍⚡ IT’S BACK… AND IT’S ICONIC. ⚡🍍

After a long year of anticipation, whispers, and tastebud-based anxiety… we can officially confirm: the Dole Whip vendor is returning to the Franklin County Fair.

Yes. It’s happening.

The swirl. The tropical perfection. The legendary frozen masterpiece that has caused more joy per bite than should legally be possible. 🍦✨

People have waited. People have dreamed. Some have even planned their entire fair visit around it. And now… redemption is here.

Prepare for that first bite—the moment time slows, the crowd fades, and all that exists is pineapple-flavored destiny. 🍍

No exaggeration: this is not just dessert. This is an event.

The Dole Whip is back. And the fair will never be the same. BrainFreeze Tropical Sno & Whips
