This is the plastic film covered paper pad on which Apiguard is applied. For some reason the propolis the bees apply to it is copious and very soft and sticky. Often they will coat nearby top bar surfaces with this same very sticky propolis. I believe it's a response to thymol.

Syrup pump? I have 400 watts at 120 voltage AC in the bed of my truck. A bit late for this year but I have another immediate use which is not bee related.

This stainless steel 55 gallon drum has decorated our driveway for several months (my wife's only comment was to once suggest "I guess we need that").
Need it ndeed - to boil water in to clean the burr comb off queen supers of which I have many.
Next step is to weld a frame to hold it over the fire pit.
One great part about beekeeping in particular and I suppose farming in general is that there is always stuff to do!

Canadian Goldenrod! Wonderful early Fall pollen, some nectar - but brings a somewhat sk**ky aroma to the hives this time of year.
I certainly hope some moron doesnt try to change it's name.

The old clamp ribbon was stainless but the tightening screw was likely zinc and did not hold tension very well. Plus the loose end kept getting in the way. A first attempt for a replacement was described online as stainless but was actually galvanized - I've had this happened before.
The vendor gave me a credit but did not want the incorrectly described clamps returned.
