When you take care of yourself, you become the author, not the victim, of your life. You create a life you truly enjoy, instead of one you might need recovery, or even therapy, from. It’s not creating a life that looks good on paper, but one that fits well with who you are. It’s letting go of some of your goals so that you can truly live a more balanced life. It’s choosing to no longer make decisions based on what will ease your anxiety, but instead based on what will be good for you tomorrow or the next day. It’s not looking to others to meet your needs; it’s meeting your own needs.

Join me this evening for a time to relax-connect-and if you want paint!

Just a few years ago I remember staring at the smallest canvas imaginable and lost at how I would ever fill the space or create anything that didn’t turn into a big brown blob.

Now a large blank space excites me and guess what I still have no idea how I will fill it but it is no longer scary or overwhelming. Sometimes it turns out to be something I love and sometimes it still turns out to be a big brown blob 😂

The point is just like life, the unknown can feel overwhelming and what to do with the unknown and wide open space can feel overwhelming. BUT what art has helped me practice is to respond to uncertainty with curiosity and excitement about what can happen next.

Creating what’s next in your life can be the most exciting place to be in once you grasp this. Whether you are unhappy with your life ,or just want to see what else could be out there for you, I encourage you to get curious and DREAM! DREAM larger then life and have fun with creating what’s next-if it turns into a big brown blob you can just paint over it-keep trying new things until you experience something you love ♥️💋
