Everyone is invited to this annual celebration, which is held at the Herrin Elks Lodge, 221 East Monroe, Herrin. In 1988, Herrin Mayor Ed Qu***ia started this tradition as a way for the community to come together to thank God for His blessings, enjoy fellowship, and have fun. This year’s meal schedule is:
8:00-9:00 coffee and donuts
11:00-2:00 Thanksgiving dinner with dancing to the music of Donni
e Falknor
5:00-7:00 Thanksgiving leftovers supper
Parades and sports will be on the 7 large screen televisions. Donations from civic organizations, businesses, and churches pay for everything. There is never a charge for anyone attending. For the homebound in Herrin and Energy who are unable to attend, please telephone the Herrin City Clerk's office at 942-3175 to arrange a home delivery of a Thanksgiving dinner. For more information, telephone Bart Mann at 942-5080.
