Mark your calendars for the first Saturday in October for Farm City Day! This year the date is October 3 from 10am-4pm. Farm City Day focuses on 'agricultural awareness', teaching kids where their food comes from and who produces it. The free event celebrates Henderson County's rural traditions and introduces the urban population to some common farming activities from previous generations. A special youth area features many hands-on activities including a farm animal petting zoo, old-timey craft demonstrations and a fishing pond. Enjoy many children’s games and activities. Planned entertainment includes local bands performing throughout the day. Food trucks are available. The event is free but bring some cash for vendors.
