Hofstra Students Advance Medical Research at the Feinstein Institutes

Students from the Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science spent the summer applying their classroom knowledge to research at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, gaining hands-on experience across engineering, computer science and medicine.

The students conducted research at Feinstein through Hofstra’s Advanced Summer Program in Research (ASPiRe), gaining experience alongside scientists and engineers in a high-caliber research environment.

Glaser Releases Third Album, “Scattered Pictures”

Adam Glaser, associate professor of music and director of orchestras, announced that his third album, Scattered Pictures, will be released on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Scattered Pictures is a piano-driven collection of 16 cover songs, mostly improvised, along with three originals. The album, inspired by his return to Long Island and the loss of his parents, is nostalgic, melancholy and meditative but ultimately full of hope and healing. The first pre-release single, “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” is live on all digital platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.).

Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft Adds Carolyn Eisenberg to Its Experts Roster

Hofstra University Professor of History Carolyn “Rusti” Eisenberg has been selected by the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft (QI) to serve as a non-resident fellow.

Eisenberg is one of 10 scholars, journalists, and activists in 2026 to receive this honor. QI’s non-resident fellows program connects a diverse array of military restraint-oriented experts who help bring outside-the-beltway thinking into the DC foreign policy conversation.
