It’s time for the DETAILS as the 9th Annual Hayesville-Vermillion Halloween Cruise-In & America 250 Celebration comes to the Village of Hayesville!
This year, we aren’t just having a Cruise-In.
We’re filling Historic Downtown Hayesville and Kendig Park with an entire day of community, history, live music, family activities, Halloween fun, classic cars and a continued celebration of America’s 250th Birthday.
And yes — ALL are welcome. Admission is FREE for the public.
🇺🇸 HERE’S THE DAY:
8:00 AM – 9:45 AM | LIONS CLUB BREAKFAST
Start the morning at the Hayesville-Vermillion Volunteer Fire Department with breakfast served by the Lions Club.
10:00 AM | KENDIG PARK & SHELTER HOUSE OPEN
The local AMVETS will be set up at the Shelter House and will have a bicycle raffle during the celebration.
Beginning around 11:00 AM | FAMILY ACTIVITIES AT KENDIG PARK
Kendig Park will be full of activities for the kids this year, including a bounce house for the wee ones, games and more! Kids activities are planned through approximately 3:00 PM.
NOON | OFFICIAL AMERICA 250 CEREMONIAL KICKOFF 🇺🇸
Join us at Kendig Park for the official opening ceremony and raising of the flag.
We will also take time to recognize and honor the veterans joining us that day. Veterans from Hayesville and beyond are warmly invited to be part of this special celebration.
The Village of Hayesville is also preparing a special America 250 time capsule filled with local history and memorabilia. The public will have an opportunity to watch as a little piece of Hayesville history is preserved for the future.
Following the ceremony, we’ll make our announcements and roll right into the Cruise-In!
🚗 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM | CRUISE-IN REGISTRATION
The Halloween-themed Cruise-In, hosted by Kandi Blaze & Friends, benefits the Hayesville-Vermillion Volunteer Fire Department.
Open to ALL makes and models.
Registration is ANY donation amount, with 100% of Cruise-In registration proceeds going directly to the Hayesville-Vermillion Volunteer Fire Department.
This year’s Cruise-In will feature a variety of trophies, including:
Firefighters Choice
Kids Choice
Veterans Choice — special for America’s 250th
…and more!
And because America only turns 250 once…
🇺🇸 Special Limited Edition America 250 Dash Plaques will be given to the FIRST 150 registered Cruise-In vehicles!
IMPORTANT: Registration is SHOW DAY ONLY. There is NO pre-registration for the Cruise-In. Please do not fall for scammers claiming otherwise.

👻 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM | KIDS COSTUME CONTEST REGISTRATION
Costume Contest registration will be located near the Cruise-In registration booth and is open to kids ages 0–17.
Kids DO NOT have to enter the Costume Contest to participate in Trunk-or-Treat.

Best Overall Costume
Most Creative
Best Traditional
Creepiest Kid
The Funniest
And for America’s 250th Birthday, we’re adding a special category for 2026:
🇺🇸 BEST 1776 COSTUME 🇺🇸
Have some fun with this one! Colonial and Revolutionary-era costumes, Betsy Ross, George Washington, Paul Revere, Lady Liberty, Uncle Sam, an American eagle, the Liberty Bell or another creative costume inspired by American history and America’s 250th celebration are welcome.
🍬 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM | CRUISE-IN TRUNK-OR-TREAT
Trunk-or-Treat is open to kids ages 0–17.
Cruise-In participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles and bring candy or treats to hand out to the kids.
And costumes are absolutely welcome for ALL ages. Yes, grown-ups too. As most of you already know, Kandi & Friends usually have something up their sleeves. 🖤🎃
The Fire Department will also have a limited number of special goodie bags packed with fire-themed items in recognition of Fire Prevention Week.

Shop the local village. Grab something to eat. Walk Historic Downtown Hayesville. Visit the incredible Historic Hayesville Opera House and discover some of the stories tucked inside this little Ohio village.
There is SO much packed into one ahhhmazing day.
