Well, it's time.
After over 50 years of performing music solo and with different bands, it's time for me to say,
"It's been good, see you down the road."
Effects of, and complications from, a stroke in 2022 have made it increasingly difficult for me to play music and sing. After a lot (and I mean a LOT as in many months) of consideration, I decided back in May that it is time for me to say farewell to performing music. It has allowed me to travel to places I otherwise never would have seen, meet lots of new and interesting people and form close friendships. It has, really, been my life, and I am grateful.
So - I am bringing it to a close after two more live performances in November:
I will perform with TrueGrass on Nov. 6 in Bayfield WI at The Backstage (part of Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua) and on Nov. 14 in Menomonie WI at Mabel Tainter Theater, followed by a cameo appearance at Peace Lutheran Church the following morning.
I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to anybody and everybody who has helped me along the way. It's been wonderful! I'll hope to see you at one of these shows in November. THANKS!

Make a day of it in Haugen, have a beverage at 3rd Base - Haugen before the show & dinner at Cousin's Hide-A-Way after!

🎻 TrueGrass specializes in reviving music of the old-time masters, adapting modern material to the bluegrass idiom, and creating new songs and tunes in a traditional stringband style. The group is made up of Tom Draughon, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist; Bruce Qualey, a classically trained bass player who enjoys performing all kinds of music; Jed Malischke, a concert and festival producer and premier bluegrass multi-instrumentalist; and Carol McDowall a classically trained violinist who also plays jazz, folk, rock and old time fiddle tunes.
