LMU Players The LMU Players is a theatre organization on the Lincoln Memorial University campus. It was founded in 2013 and performs two plays per year.

The LMU Players will present NewworX 2024, a special end-of-semester playwrights festival, November 21-22 at 7:30 p.m. in Duke Hall.

The event will showcase short plays by alumni, faculty, and current students, celebrating LMU’s community of writers. Featured playwrights include Earl Hobson Smith (former LMU professor); alumni Laurana Duncan (2019), Katelin Chadwell (2021), Kennedy Buechner (2020), DJ Alexander (2024), and Jim Appleby (Lee County, VA resident); and current students Jillian Moses, Harper Mills (LMU Tennis), Elizabeth Butler (LMU Women’s Soccer), and Logan Wilson (LMU Lacrosse).

The LMU Players are holding Auditions for our fall semester show. Auditions are on Friday, October 11th, from 4pm to 7pm in Avery Hall 114 and Monday, October 14th from 4pm to 7pm in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center at Duke Hall.

For the audition, you will be asked to present a one-minute monologue (preferably memorized) and a song. Sample monologues will be available for cold reading for those who do not have a monologue. Please know you must sign up for an audition time, the sign-up sheet is located outside Avery 112 on the theatre board. Auditions will be held in the Sam and Sue Mars Performance Arts Center of the Duke Hall. The first rehearsal is Oct. 16th. The Performance dates are November 21, 22, and 23, 2024.
