BIG NEWS: This season, Lights on the Lake is thrilled to announce we are installing a brand new 12-story portable parking garage at the lake. Plenty of parking for everyone. Totally normal. Completely real.

Throwback Sunday 🌊❄️

Snowflake Beach may be packed up for the year, but summer beach season is right around the corner! While the lights have gone dark, the lake never stops being a place where memories are made.

Our friends over at Mountain Lake Club welcomed thousands of guests this past season to Lakeside Bar & Grill, where families laughed, relaxed, and soaked in lake sunsets while enjoying brunch, dinner, drinks, fire pits, and plenty of shoreline vibes.

Fun fact for the history lovers 👀
What is now Lakeside Bar & Grill was once the bathhouse for the old pool. The current kitchen, bar, and bathrooms used to be the shower/office areas, and the dining space near the fireplace? That was the original kitchen. (Also, never play Uno with the owners… they will Uno Reverse you every time.)

If you visited before the renovations, you’ll notice it’s had a beautiful refresh, larger windows overlooking the lake and expanded outdoor seating make those lake views even more special while dining.

During the summer months, guests can enjoy:

🚣 Kayaking
🔥 Fire pits & sunset views
…and so much more

Mountain Lake Club offers activities throughout the week year-round, and you can find all the details on their social media pages and website. You don’t have to be a member to enjoy (members get do get special perks)!

Update from Duck Management 🦆📋

While we may be taking down the lights this weekend, negotiations with the ducks for Season 5 have officially concluded.

They came in hot with demands, insisted they’re the real headliners (“People come for the ducks, not the lights”), and asked for clauses covering snacks, waddling breaks, and enhanced leisure travel.

After intense talks (and zero leverage on our part), an agreement was reached.

✅ Ducks returning for Season 5
💼 Expanded travel & leisure package approved

Lights come down, ducks stay employed. That’s show business. 🦆

✨ That’s a wrap on the 2025 season! ✨

As a small but mighty team with a big mission, we want to say thank you to everyone who joined us this year at Lights on the Lake!

What started as a vision to create the best holiday light show in the Eastern Panhandle—at prices families can enjoy, continues to grow beyond anything we imagined. Lights on the Lake was built to bridge community, family, and friends, while showcasing the little-known treasure that is the Mountain Lake Club.

This season, Community Trees 🌲 helped 30 local nonprofits share their missions and raise meaningful funds to keep doing the incredible work they do. That impact is what this event is truly about.

We met families from around the globe, reconnected with original staff who helped build the old lodge we now transform into Santa’s Place, and heard stories filled with history, laughter, and memories, many of which we’re already planning to bring to life next year.

We also celebrated:
💍 7 engagements (that we know of!)
📸More than ten thousand + memories created
🐾 Hundreds of dogs
😺 And even one very special cat who experienced the magic
📸Growing families that attend year after year

And as for next year… let’s just say freight trucks have been arriving since August, and our 5th anniversary season is shaping up to be something truly epic. 🎄✨

Being the Eastern Panhandle’s #1 light event means the world to us, but we’re just getting started.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of the magic. ❤️

Across the property, you’ll find a number of large photo ops, giant light trees, snowmen, reindeer, Santa’s Toy Shop, Mrs. Claus’ Bake Shop, and even a 1920s sleigh. Every turn is a memory waiting to happen.
