It time again for the Children’s Raffle at the Piasa Free Trappers Rendezvous, in Hardin, IL!

Every year we hold a free Childrens Raffle for all participant children who dress in period attire and camp as a participant durring the event.

The winner, drawn at closing ceremonies on Sunday afternoon, will win an entire period camp set up with such items wool blankets, fire iron sets, cofffe pots, cups, and a period canvas tent of their very own!

So for all our historical participants, bring your children and let’s keep or hobby and our community going strong for the next generation!

For all the folks visiting The Free Trappers Rendezvous at Hardin, IL next weekend (Oct 21 and 22) be sure to check out all the 19th century period artisans, craftsmen, and vendors that will be camped there.

Whether it’s an hand forged iron shepherds hook from the black smith, a hand made piece of Native American bead work, sweet smelling homemade soap, or a hand sewn coyote fur hat…. Come out and see all the goods on display and take home your own piece of history!

Perhaps the best part of attending the Piasa Free Trappers Rendezvous in Hardin, IL is the spectacular display of fall colors on the Illinois River.

Whether you comming south from Kampsville , IL, or North from Grafton, IL the fall colors on the bluffs in late October are nothing g short of spectacular.

Wow! Just about 5weeks before the Free Trappers Rendezvous, in Hardin ILLINOIS!

The Piasa Free Trappers and the Ded Squirrels have been hard at work getting things in place for another great event…including cutting and splitting A WHOLE BUCNCH of fire wood for our reenactors!

Pecan, Oak, Cherry and Walnut….gonna make for some warm fires and delicious meals folks!
