GFC was started a few years ago as “Coffee, Tea, and Me” by Irene Hurt in womens homes to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Since then the name was changed to “GIRLFRIENDS CAFÉ”, Carol Tatman joined Irene, and the concept of Girlfriends Café has continued to grow. GFC in Hannibal started at Calvary Baptist Church in 2010 and is now also at the Mark Twain Family Restaurant as a downto

wn outreach. This year a “kit” was developed to offer the opportunity for other churches and ministries to have their “own” Girlfriends Café. Salem/ Wyaconda association, and Cahokia Il. area churches..(There was even a ‘mini’ GFC in Nashville TN during the National Womens Leadership Forum last Nov.) In addition to the kits… coffee mugs, nametags, bags, are also available to help fund the ministry. Girlfriends Café is not just to be another “program”. It is a “tool” to be used to help women get to know each other, encourage and share with each other, and to grow spiritually with each other in Christ.:)
