The Pine Mountain Music Festival began in Iron Mountain, and we’re so happy to once again bring performances back to the community this season.

Over the years, many people have shared how much they value having festival events in Iron Mountain, and we truly appreciate that support and enthusiasm. This summer we’re excited to present all three of our events in Iron Mountain, and we would love to see audiences come out and support these events in person.

Community attendance plays a big role in helping us continue offering performances in the area, and every ticket purchased truly makes a difference for a small festival like ours.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to visit the choir classes at Marquette Senior High School and Bothwell Middle School in Marquette. Maitri White (UPstarts! 2023, Guest Artist 2024 and 2025) sang an aria from the contemporary opera "Glory Denied" as well as "Donde Lieta" from La Boheme. Lara Neves sang the Habanera from Carmen. It was fun to watch the kids recognize the popular TikTok sound in the opening notes of Habanera.

We talked a lot about what opera is and the beauty of being able to sing big emotion in a big way! The most popular comment from the kids when asked what they knew about opera was "It's LOUD!" All of the students had great questions and were eager to learn!
