It may have been a little rainy but that didn't stop the fun.

We had our biggest Tammany Trot yet!

Competeive timming was a great addition. Thank you to all those to volunteered or ran, this event wouldn't be the same without you. Also one last shout out to our sponors who were an integral part of making this our biggest year yet. While we are so excited for spooky season, all this snow has got sugar plums dancing in our heads. It's officially one month until our annual Holly Jolly Artisan Craft Fair. With over 40 local makers, it is a great way to support local with your holiday gift hunting. Can't wait to see you there!

With the Tammany Trot happening this weekend, we got to thinking about Mr. Daly’s favorite racehorse.

If you’ve toured the mansion, you may have noticed this beautiful wooden mosaic. The piece, currently on loan to the Daly Mansion, once graced the floor of The Montana Hotel in Anaconda.

And there’s a fun story behind why it’s still in such good shape…

Legend has it that when Marcus Daly built the hotel, he placed the mosaic in the bar and made a rule: if you stepped on it, you had to buy the entire bar a round of drinks!

Today, you’ll find the mosaic safely stored at the Daly Mansion, where no one has to worry about accidentally turning a little step into a very expensive drink order

Whether the legend is true or not, it may help explain why this beautiful piece has survived in such remarkable condition! After all, who wanted to risk stepping on it and buying a whole bar a round? 😉
