The toughest spot in pageants. 💔👑
Hearing your name called for Top 3 or Top 5 is amazing. You know all those months of hard work, preparation, and dreaming have paid off. You’ve been recognized, and you’re so close.
But when it comes down to the final two and your name is called for first alternate, it’s rewarding and incredibly heartbreaking all at the same time.
Your hard work paid off. You were recognized. But it wasn’t enough to get the title.
You had all these dreams, and now you’re watching them come true for someone else. Someone who is just as deserving as you are. Just… not you. Not this time.
And suddenly, the questions start.
Where did I go wrong? What should I have changed? Why wasn’t I good enough?
🛑 STOP. 🛑
You didn’t do anything wrong. You weren’t lacking something. You probably don’t need to change a thing.
You simply weren’t the judges’ choice THAT day, in THAT system. And that’s okay.
YOU ARE ENOUGH. Just as you are. 🫶
First alternate is a hard place to be, but don’t make it harder by beating yourself up. Hold your head high. Be proud of how far you’ve come, how much you’ve grown, and the young lady you are becoming.
Keep doing what you’re doing. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep being YOU.
One day, you’ll stand on that stage in front of a set of judges who WILL choose you. Your dreams WILL come true, and you WILL get to experience that moment you’ve worked so hard for.
And when that day comes, I hope you take a moment to remember the girl standing beside you in those final two spots. Remember how you felt when you were in her shoes.
Speak life into her. Remind her that she is enough, too.
Because crowns and titles may only last a year, but how you make people feel will last far beyond that.
Congratulations, Adleigh Caroline! You were amazing this weekend. I hope you make the best memories during your year. I’ll be right here cheering you on! ❤️
And as for me… just wait. This isn’t the end of my story, and I’m not letting one moment define what comes next. I’m going to keep pushing forward, keep growing, and keep chasing those dreams.
