RACE WEEK IS HERE!
Are you ready! We still have hundreds...not kidding here...hundreds of packets to be picked up. This means you will be in line for a very long time if you do not come to one of our remaining packet pickups this week.
What to watch for this week:
1) The weather. We are looking really good for race day!

2) Race Updates. Both in-person and virtual race participants will receive their race update with all important information in the update for a stress-free event. Please read through the update before emailing us at [email protected]. Chances are, the answer is in the update.

3) PICK UP YOUR PACKET! You will be in line for a very long time if you wait until race day. We have volunteers who are trying to manage details such as changes, and one-off pickup details which will slow down a basic pickup. Please take advantage of one of the 5 remaining packet pickup times this week before race day.

4) Get ready to have fun! We are looking forward to seeing you on race day. Our mighty team has been working all year to create this event for you and our community. Proceeds go to the Senior Coastsiders.

5) Go visit the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival after your event on Sunday morning. They will be waiting for you and will want to see your medal! Check out the festival, this year's heaviest pumpkin, and get a slice of pumpkin pie to reward yourself for your effort on the course!

Visit us at New Leaf Community Markets in Half Moon Bay - 150 San Mateo Road, HMB between 4pm - 7pm on Thursday, 10/8.
Visit us at A Runner's Mind in Burlingame - 1111 Howard Avenue, Burlingame between 10am-2pm on Saturday, 10/10.

🎉Introducing our 2026 Ambassador Team!

Meet Anthony Cortes!

Anthony is joining us this year in his second year as a Pumpkin Run Ambassador. BUT...we are proud to state that Anthony is homegrown here in Half Moon Bay. Though he moved to another town north of here, we still consider him our native running son and are proud to share some fun facts about Anthony!

Anthony is no stranger to the HMBPR podium. We are honored that Anthony has been the overall winner of the half marathon and the 10k distance multiple times.

Having begun his running career in 2010, Anthony quickly caught the running bug and has been a force on the course ever since.

Anthony shared with us the his latest achievement of qualifying for Boston at CIM in 2025. Watch for Anthony on Patriot's Day in 2027...you just might see him as he rounds the corner onto Boylston Street for his mighty finish!

Another achievement that Anthony shared with us left us in awe!

Anthony: "This past January 25, 2026, I completed 600 races
throughout my lifetime career and last year, on Memorial weekend, I was part of the Member 500 Races Club, plus breaking 190 course records. I’m inspiring a lot of new
runners in California and especially out of state too. As I share my stories and some advice with them [runners] about why I got into running as a natural sport, [and how] it changed me to go
the distance. I’m hoping to reach my levels to qualify for the Olympics in the future."

Anthony has a lot of quotes that he embraces. But we will leave you with this one as we have found it most fitting for all that Anthony has accomplished just within the year that he has run this race.

🎉Introducing our 2026 Ambassador Team!

Meet Mor Hirsh!

Mor is joining us this year in his second year as a Pumpkin Run Ambassador. Though, we might have to say that by proxy, this is Mor's third year. You see, we have a dynamic duo Ambassador team. Fun Fact: Mor is married to Mandy who we introduced you to on Tuesday.

Mor is very involved in the running community here on the coast. We are pleased that he had the time to be a part of the group this year. We are happy to share some fun facts about Mor. We also wanted to know how his role aligned with the Senior Coastsiders' mission to support the community.

HMBPR: How does your role as an ambassador align with Senior Coastsiders’ mission to support the community?

Mor: "The coast is a tight-knit community, and I believe we have a responsibility to support and uplift one another—especially our senior residents. I can't think of a better way to give back than by combining my passion for running with an event that directly supports our seniors."

Meet Amanda Hall!

Amanda is joining us this year in her third year as a Pumpkin Run Ambassador. We love the energy that Amanda (Mandy) brings to the races that she touches. Though she professes she is not a runner, Mandy is one of the most supportive and knowledgeable "non-runners" 😉 out there. (Psst...Mandy is a runner having completed a marathon in Alaska). Some of you may know her from her role at Pacifica Runners. We couldn't be more happy with our partnership with Pacifica Runners and the ability to support other local coastside events. Having Mandy on our team is an added bonus.

HMBPR: How does your role as an ambassador align with Senior Coastsiders’ mission to support the community?

Amanda (Mandy): "Being an ambassador means I can promote a fun and family-oriented event that supports a wonderful organization. Supporting our local community benefits all of us."

We are down to the bare bones in remaining space. Only a handful of spots remain in the 5k (10) and kids fun run (20).
We will not have waitlists for sold out events. This race PR'd its own results by selling out faster than in previous years. We are so grateful to you for your support of the Senior Coastsiders.

🎉Introducing our 2026 Ambassador Team!

Meet Gregory Lane!

Gregory is joining us this year in his first year as a Pumpkin Run Ambassador.

Gregory will be traveling from Ohio to join us for this year's race! We are honored that Gregory chose our race here on the west coast to help check off the many locations where he is trying to finish a half marathon. Gregory shared with us that he "presently runs for C&C Runners which is mainly in Roanoke, Virginia." He has run the Blue Ridge, Salem, Star City, and Martinsville half marathons in southwest Virginia.
When he is not running, Gregory works in the hospitality industry for a hotel and works the overnight shift. For nearly 40 years, he has also officiated volleyball for schools and clubs in Ohio.

Gregory is a truly interested in others and enjoys celebrating in others' victories along with them. He has shared that he "loves to spend time with people and [celebrate] their joy after we all finish running in Half Moon Bay, California."
