Join us September 26-27 for Making the Connection, an Obedience Seminar with Marion Crain.

Whether you’re looking to polish your performance or build a bulletproof ring routine, a great performance starts with a deep connection. Join us for a powerhouse weekend learning from the best!

This hands-on seminar is specifically designed to help you build a working relationship with your dog that seamlessly transitions from practice right into the ring. Marion will focus on her proven methods for building drive and motivation, finding the perfect balance between control and drive, and successfully avoiding or managing food and toy dependence.

Here is what we are diving into over this packed weekend:

Saturday: Training Philosophy & Foundation
Get back to basics with a high-drive twist! Saturday will focus on building the ultimate foundation, including:

- Effective use of food and toy rewards.
- Mastering quick, motivating transitions between exercises.
- Achieving precise, animated heeling.
- Speedy, enthusiastic recalls and finishes/returns.
- Crisp stationary positions to lay the groundwork for signals and command discrimination.

Sunday: Advanced Work & Progression
We’ll build on Saturday’s foundation and elevate your training to advanced exercises, troubleshooting and polishing:

- Dynamic retrieves and go-outs.
- Confident, clean jumping.
- Flawless scent discrimination.
- Reliable, distance-defying signals.

Whether your pup is a natural-born retriever or just loves a good game of ball, this is the perfect, low-stress, non-competitive way to bond and show off their skills.

When: Saturday, June 20, 2026

We are offering two trials for each level, meaning you have the opportunity to earn a full title in a single day!

- Novice (FTN): Perfect for beginners! Your dog will perform 3 single retrieves from 30 feet away, navigating through a basic course with 4 distractions (like standard boxes). Handlers can hold the collar at the start line.

- Intermediate (FTI): Stepping up the challenge! This level features 4 single retrieves from 50 feet away, navigating a course with 8 distractions. Handlers can steady their dog with just one finger on the collar.

This event is open to ALL BREEDS and mixed breeds (AKC Canine Partners) alike! Dogs must be at least 6 months old and have an AKC, PAL, or Canine Partners number to participate.
