Tahiti Mana Presents, in collaboration with

This event is inspired by Tahitiʻs Tūʻaro Māʻohi (Traditional Sports) and is organized with the guidance of Te Moana Nui Ancestral Heritage Foundation.

DATE: Wednesday, Nov 11 (Veteran’s Day)
9AM–4:30PM

Tickets: $5 for all Kamaaina ages 4 and over | $10 for general

In celebration of Veterans Day, all active and retired military can enjoy FREE admission to the Valley

The day begins 9am with Waimea Valleyʻs ceremony to celebrate the season of Makahiki followed by the Coconut Tree Climb. The event moves up into the Valley with the Fruit Carrying Race, Stone Lifting and Makahiki Games Demonstrations/Participation

To celebrate the athletes, perfoms during the prize giving in the amphitheatre at 3:30pm and we are excited to announce, returning this year, special guests ʻIa ora na Tahiti from Papara, Tahiti.

En novembre 2026, notre délégation de 19 personnes s’envolera pour Hawai‘i afin de participer au Te Moana Nui Games et représenter nos Tu’aro Mā’ohi 🔥

Initialement hébergés dans un fare amuira’a, celui-ci ayant été endommagé par El Niño, nous devons aujourd’hui financer un hébergement à l’hôtel, une dépense supplémentaire importante pour notre délégation.

History made in Tahiti!

Our team has delivered the Cook Islands' best ever results at Heiva Tu'aro Ma'ohi, and we couldn't be prouder.

In the coconut climbing event, Yaliloa Papitai claimed 1st place with an incredible time of 4.48 seconds, setting a new competition record.

Final standings:
🥇 Yaliloa Papitai (Cook Islands)
🥈 Ellio (Samoa)
🥉 Tokoa Elikana (Cook Islands)
4️⃣ Joshua Jim (Cook Islands)

Joshua Jim also dominated the wrestling competition, winning four straight rounds to defeat the defending champion from Tahiti and claim another gold for the Cook Islands.

In the 120kg rock lifting event saturday, Tamaiva won in 2.60 seconds out if 15 warriors.
Solomona Akamoeau successfully lifted the 120kg rock stone on his second attempt, while Rima Browne completed two successful 65kg rocklifts with impressive times. For both athletes, this was their first experience competing in this event, making their performances even more remarkable.

These are our strongest results ever at Heiva Tu'aro Ma'ohi and a testament to the dedication, strength and pride our athletes have shown representing the Cook Islands on the international stage.

Congratulations to every member of Team Cook Islands. You have made the nation proud.
