Global 6K for Water 2026 đź’¦ recap:
Thank you to EVERYONE who has participated, donated and/or prayed this year and/or in years past. 🧡Thank you to our many volunteers who make the event run smoothly (like Chip Moser & David Wilkinson). A special thank you to Otterbein United Methodist Church (especially the Serve committee & Pastor Steve) in Hagerstown, Hub City Vineyard in Hagerstown, Covenant Life Church in Hagerstown, all the friends, families, and others who’ve made the Global 6K in Hagerstown a success for the past 10 years. DJ’ing our event were Jacob Sipes & Mike Schultz of Knights of the Turntable; and photography by Jennifer Lang, made it even more special.
2026: $5025 raised as of race day, which provides 100 kids with clean water for life. Donations are still being accepted until the end of June. (See link in comments)
The total raised over the past 10 years is $88,491, which is clean water for life for 1,769 kids.
âś… Save the date for next year! May 15, 2027 at 9 am at Paramount Elementary school.
In Matthew 25:31-46, God calls us as His church, to continue the work He started, by reaching out with love to those in need. As we respond to those in need, we too will be renewed. I want to invite you to sponsor the child you walked or ran for this year. You can enter into a personal and life changing relationship with your “kid,” making fullness of life a possibility, through education, healthcare, protection from exploitation, food security and more. Let us live as followers of Christ by being active, visible bearers of God’s love. Our family sponsors 2 kids that we’ve run for in the past and it is a wonderful experience for our whole family. To learn more and become a sponsor of the child on your bib, please go to worldvision.org, type “bib look up” in the “what can we help you to find” search field, click enter and select the “Sponsor a Child | Team World Vision Bib Lookup” link. If you didn’t participate but would be interested in sponsoring a child, just go to worldvision.org. The information link is on the home page.
In closing, we’d like to share two passages from scripture...
Matthew 18:5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
Isaiah 58:10 ...and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. Thank you & God Bless you.l!
