Great to see this film coming out about people trained at Fort Ritchie prior and during World War II!

"Sons and Soldiers tells the amazing true story about a group of young Jewish refugees from Germany and surrounding countries, who made it to the US in the 1930s just before the N***s closed in.

Because they knew German, they were recruited by the US military and trained at Camp Ritchie in Maryland to be translators and interrogators. They were then sent out with every combat unit in Europe to question German POWs as soon as they were captured."

The teacher and student filmmakers of the winning student film "How It Should Be" received their trophy. It was mailed to their school in California.

We received this great letter:

"Dear Tom,

I received the award! Thank you so much. What a beautiful statue and letter,

I’m disappointed that we weren’t able to attend the screening and accept the award in person. I look forward to submitting more of our films next year and bringing my students to your festival.

Best regards,

Clean Hands began as a story that Jake Robert believed needed to be told. Along the way it became a journey of purpose, resilience, and connection.

We are extremely excited to announce that CLEAN HANDS will World Premiere at Tribeca on Opening Weekend!!! 🎬❤️

Brooke’s House has been extremely blessed with Jake Allyn who has turned our story into a movie!

Huge thank you to Zach Braff, Esther McGregor, Abigail Spencer, Lucas Till, Holt McCallany and so many amazing others that poured their hearts into Clean Hands 🫶🏻

🤯 It’s not every day that the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) tags you in a post! We are still pinching ourselves after seeing their official Instagram tag! 🤩

We are so proud to announce that Liam Pullens, a 2025 graduate from our Photo and Cinema Department, has received the prestigious Best Student Director Award from the National Student Production Awards!

This is a national award given to only one student in the entire country, and the recognition from NATAS highlights the high caliber of work coming from our students. We could not be more proud to have been represented in this highly esteemed competition.

A massive congratulations to Liam and the entire SYD team on this truly huge and well-deserved achievement!
