Built in 2014 as c/n 0050V3, the aircraft represents one of the most refined versions of the Edge 540 family. The type became a favourite among Red Bull Air Race pilots thanks to its lightweight steel-tube fuselage structure, which keeps the aircraft exceptionally light while remaining strong enough for extreme aerobatic loads.

Powered by a Lycoming AEIO-540 producing over 300 horsepower, the Edge 540 V3 delivers extraordinary performance for such a small aircraft. Roll rates reach around 420 degrees per second, structural limits extend to +12 and −12 G, and top speed approaches 230 knots (426 km/h). It is exactly the kind of machine designed for the violent snap rolls, tumbles and vertical manoeuvres that define modern unlimited aerobatics.
