Be on the lookout for rattlesnakes. Warmer days bring them out. Take care as you step outdoors.

If you’re hitting the trails this spring and summer, keep an eye out for rattlesnakes. They usually avoid people, but if cornered they can strike. A rattlesnake bite is a medical emergency.

✅ Call 911 immediately and get to the nearest hospital. Antivenom is only available in a hospital setting.
✅ You can also call the Poison Control Hotline at 1-800-222-1222 (24/7, free, expert help).
✅ If your pet is bitten, contact a veterinarian right away.
