250+ Reasons to Say Ευχαριστούμε 🇬🇷

On WXYZ TV-7 Sunday morning, I praised the more than 250 incredible, dedicated and hard-working volunteers who gave their time, talent, energy, sweat and heart to make the 2026 Assumption GreekFest something truly special.

For months leading up to the festival and throughout an unforgettable weekend, they prepared food, served, welcomed, organized, cleaned, carried, posted on social media, solved problems and stepped up wherever they were needed.

But their greatest contribution was something you can’t put on a schedule or checklist. They created the warmth, hospitality and sense of community that people feel the moment they arrive and throughout GreekFest.

To every volunteer who gave a little or gave a lot, thank you. You made a huge difference. You made people feel welcome. And you made GreekFest another success!

Opa!

We’re wrapping up the Assumption GreekFest 2026, and some of us are officially in a lamb coma while others are in a loukoumades coma.

Our grand raffle has been announced (winners will be individually notified), grills are cooling down, the rice puddings are all gone, and our hearts are completely full.

Thank you to everyone who came out to eat, dance, and be Greek with us this weekend.

You made this our best year yet, and we are already counting down the days until we can do it all over again.

Mark your calendars for next summer, loosen your belts, and get ready for an even bigger celebration in 2027!
