We put quilts in context during our annual show. In addition to the display of contemporary quilts at our big cedar and glass Sen. Ed Wilkinson Pavilion and the treasured heirloom quilts at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, we display quilts at the Old Jail Museum facility. In coooperation with the South Sebastian County Historical Society, we curate events and displays from the 1830-1940 era there for our quilt show visitors and display representative vintage quilts in their "natural habitat." Here's a bit of the fun we had in May, 2026.

It made we wonder, did ancient designs by monks in monasteries influence quilt patterns? (If you love history, check out the website https://tofujoe.com/2023/02/17/medieval-irish-tiles/. How about this? This quilt is named for an old favorite gospel song written right here in Sebastian County!

It's been awhile since we visited Julie Silber out in California. Today she's sharing "family bible" quilts. Have you ever run across one? Have one in your own family?
