The Adirondack Wool and Arts Festival (formerly the Southern Adirondack Fiber Festival) was established in 2008. Part of the Washington County Fair located in Greenwich, New York, the festival is a celebration of how agriculture plays an important role in arts. Through the production of natural animal fibers (wool and fleece) yarns are produced and made into beautiful arts and fashions. Specialty

soaps, healing arts, craft beverages, photography, pottery, jewlerly, and more... All items have a start in agriculture or a connection to agriculture.

What an absolutely fleece-tacular weekend at the Washington County Fiber Tour! 🐑✨

From farm visits and fiber demos to meeting the incredible makers, shepherds, and artists who keep this community thriving, it was a beautiful celebration of sheep, wool, and the people who turn fleece into art. The creativity, hospitality, and passion on every stop of the tour truly showed why our fiber community is something special.

Photo Use & Rights
By submitting a photo, you grant the Washington County Fair and ADK Wool & Arts permission to use, reproduce, and sell the submitted image on tote bags and for promotional purposes related to the event. Photographers will retain credit for their work whenever possible.

Whether it’s a lamb striking a pose, a flock looking extra fluffy, or your latest woolly masterpiece, we want to see it! Don’t be shy, ewe never know when your photo might be the one that has us saying, “That’s un-baa-lievable!”

Get ready for one of the most beloved spring traditions in Eastern Upstate New York! The 33rd Annual Washington County Fiber Tour returns April 25–26, 2026, inviting fiber lovers, families, makers, and curious explorers to experience the heart of our region’s vibrant fiber community.

📅 Event Details

Dates: April 25–26, 2026
Farm Hours: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM both days (unless noted otherwise)
Location: Beautiful farms across Washington County, New York

🌿 A Weekend of Farms, Fiber, and Fun

Take a scenic self-guided drive through the rolling countryside and visit welcoming local farms where you can meet:

🦙 Alpacas
🐑 Sheep and adorable spring lambs
🐐 Goats
🐇 Angora bunnies
🦙 Llamas
…and many other fiber animals!

Meet the farmers and families who care for these incredible animals and learn firsthand how their fleece becomes the textiles we use every day.

All events are free, and visitors can enjoy demonstrations throughout the tour, including:

Spinning

Knitting

Weaving

Felting

You can also visit the historic Battenkill Carding and Spinning Mill to see how raw fleece is processed into beautiful yarn.
