We’d like to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible maintenance team, both our full-time and part-time staff, for their hard work and dedication!

From our plumbers and electricians to our general grounds crew, the teamwork, commitment, and pride they’ve shown over the past several months is truly beginning to shine throughout the fairgrounds. Their efforts behind the scenes help ensure that the Washington County Fair continues to be a place where traditions are celebrated and memories are made for generations to come.

With fair week just a few months away, we are excited to showcase the many improvements that have been made across the grounds. None of it would be possible without these hardworking individuals who give so much of their time and talent to our fair!

The Fair will have a table at the Argyle Elementary’s AGri-argyle Agricultural Festival event with Jr Committee applications and some other fun goodies!!! We will see you there! 🐄🐑🐐🐇✨

🌽 🚜 Students and families are invited to join us on Thursday May 28 for the second annual Agri-gyle Agriculture Festival! It will be a day of fun, learning, and celebrating local agriculture!! Please return the reservation form that was sent home with your student by tomorrow, May 20! 🐾

Notice! The Washington County Fair will be CLOSED This Friday (5/22) through Monday (5/25) for the Memorial Day Weekend.

The Fair will reopen Tuesday 5/26.

Due to the recent rain, the grounds are simply too slippery to safely hold our upcoming Gymkhana. The safety of our riders and horses always comes first, so this event will be rescheduled for a later date. We’ll share the new date as soon as it’s confirmed!

While this is disappointing, it’s also a perfect reminder of why our new Multi-Use Show Arena is so important! With a proper arena surface, we would be able to host events in a wide range of weather conditions without worrying about footing or cancellations.

We’re often asked if we can just move events into Barn 4, but unfortunately the footing in that space is too shallow for Gymkhana patterns and speed events to be done safely. These events require proper depth and cushion in the surface to protect both horses and riders.

This future arena will allow us to:
• Hold events rain or shine
• Provide consistent, safe footing for horses and riders
• Expand programming and opportunities for our community
• Reduce weather-related disruptions throughout the season
