Clarence Williams III and Gloria Foster were an acclaimed African-American acting couple who met on the set of the 1963 film The Cool World, married in 1967, and maintained a deep personal and professional bond throughout their lives. Williams achieved widespread fame as the ultra-cool undercover cop Linc Hayes on the counterculture television series The Mod Squad (1968–1973) and went on to deliver memorable performances in films like Purple Rain (1984) and Tales from the Hood (1995). Foster was a powerhouse of the stage and screen, winning three Obie Awards for her off-Broadway theater work before capturing global cinematic recognition for her iconic role as the Oracle in The Matrix (1999). During their 17-year marriage, the couple collaborated creatively, with Foster making two impactful guest appearances alongside her husband on The Mod Squad. Though they filed for divorce in 1984, they chose to remain close friends and artistic confidants; following Foster's passing from diabetes complications in 2001, it was Williams who officially announced her death to the public.

Happy 85th Birthday to Herbie Hancock.

He is a jazz pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, composer, and occasional actor. In the 1970s, Hancock experimented with jazz fusion, funk, and electro styles, utilizing a wide array of synthesizers and electronics. It was during this period that he released perhaps his best-known and most influential album, Head Hunters.

Happy 88th Birthday to "Billy Dee" Williams Jr.

He is an actor and novelist. He is best known as Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars franchise, first in the early 1980s, and nearly forty years later in The Rise of Skywalker (2019), marking one of the longest intervals between onscreen portrayals of a character by the same actor in American film history.

He's a multi talented - actor, comedian, writer, and producer, and singer, Murphy got his big break on Saturday Night Live, where he was a regular from 1980 to 1984.

Murphy's also has slayed the crowds as a stand-up comedian, and Comedy Central ranked him No. 10 on their list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time, which is no joke.
