A Pulitzer Prize winner is coming to Greensboro. 📚

Geraldine Brooks is an Australian-American journalist and novelist who received the Pulitzer Prize in fiction in 2006 for her novel March. Her novels People of the Book, Caleb’s Crossing, The Secret Chord and Horse were all New York Times Bestsellers. She will headline the Historical Book Club of North Carolina's Annual Town Meeting on Books.

Join GTCC • Guilford Technical Community College on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from noon-1 p.m. in Koury Auditorium on the Jamestown Campus for the All-College Read Author Visit with Ed Southern, editor and contributing author of The Devil’s Done Come Back, an anthology of North Carolina ghost stories and legends.

This event is free and open to the public!

We are thrilled to announce our 2027 Book Festival will be held at The Pyrle in downtown Greensboro!

If you have not seen this incredible downtown theater since its rebirth, you are in for a treat. Elegant, edgy, state-of-the-art, and downright beautiful. Basically: a beautiful theater, a room full of readers and authors, and a whole lot of excellent conversation.

The BOOK IT! program is back for summer, and we couldn't be happier. Kids can earn free Personal Pan Pizzas by reaching their reading goals, just like many of us did growing up. We fully support reading for the love of books... and maybe a little for the pizza, too! 🍕

⚡ Calling all anime fans! Our friends at the Greensboro Public Library are hosting GPL Anime Con with cosplay, manga, video games, artists, and all things anime. Anime Con 2026 will be held at the Central Library on August 8 from 10 am - 5 pm.

This event is free and open to all ages.
