Today, here at Remarkable A Speakers Bureau we pause to remember and honor all those we lost on September 11, 2001, and the heroes who ran toward danger when everyone else ran away. ๐
On that morning, 25 years ago, I was in direct sales with Premier Designs High Fashion Jewelry, one of the top Christian-based direct sales jewelry companies in the country. They served families in their homes for 35 years before closing their doors, a reminder of how much our world of connection has changed.
That evening, I decided, after speaking with a new jeweler joining my team, whom we had scheduled for her training show that night, that we would hold our show not as a sales event but as a gathering place. Somewhere people could come together, talk, watch the news, and not be alone.
Women and their families came. Some with news of hope. Some were still waiting to hear about loved ones. We cried together. We prayed together.
It was that night I realized something that has shaped everything since: every event, no matter how small, has the power to change someone's life.
Today, most direct sales companies that brought people together in homes no longer exist. And I find myself asking: how do we stay connected in a world that has moved so much online?
The answer I keep coming back to is the same one I discovered that September night: we show up for each other. In person when we can. Intentionally always.
Never forget. ๐บ๐ธ๐
