Weir-Jordan House The Weir-Jordan House is an historic event venue located in downtown Greensboro, NC. In 1890 the house was sold to John F. Catering. Please visit Savory St.

The Weir-Jordan House (c. 1846) has a rich history in the city of Greensboro. This antebellum home is on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of only ten surviving structures built before 1880 in Greensboro. The original owner, Dr. David Weir, was President of the Edgeworth Female Academy (now Greensboro College) and founded the first insurance company in the city of Greensboro. Jor

dan, a businessman in tobacco who served as a Guilford County sheriff, a Greensboro commissioner, and Chamber of Commerce director. The house was purchased by the Greensboro Woman’s Club in 1921 with the purpose of using the home as a clubhouse. More recently, the GWC saw an opportunity to serve the community by making the house available to the public for various functions. In 2008, the Weir-Jordan House became the home of Savory St. at the Weir-Jordan House today. With our casual elegance and Southern sense of style, we will provide an experience to be remembered by you & your guests.

Life happens and things don’t always go as planned.

Last week we had a client reach out to us that their baby shower venue had fallen through at the last minute. Their caterer recommended us, and we were able to accommodate!

It was a beautiful afternoon for our Spring High Tea at the Weir-Jordan House!

Live piano music, yummy food, cozy teas & getting creative making personalized bud vases at the flower bar made for such a happy afternoon.💐🫖☕️🎶

Weir-Jordan ‘glow up’ part 2!

How many of us had red kitchens or dining rooms in the late 90’s/early 2000’s?🙋🏼‍♀️

After many years of use as a professional catering kitchen, it was very well loved (read, it felt a little grungy & lots of repairs were needed!).

Now that we are a receiving kitchen only, it was time to fix up & clean up our look.

We chose SW Sea Salt, to keep in the same color way as our dining room and parlor. The blue is light and airy but warm, and changes hue slightly with the light.

We love how color can elevate a space and how cohesive it looks now, and so appreciate getting this much needed update completed!

The Weir-Jordan house is getting a ‘glow up’!

Since everyone loves a good before and after, we thought we would share two projects that have gone on in the house this week.

Starting with our stairs! We replaced old riser treads (first 3 pics!) with a beautiful carpet runner. We really appreciate all of the help from Carolyn Byrum at Flooring Innovations on this project! This will make our stairs much safer when going up and down.

And we are so thankful to our clients. The trust you put in us hosting your events here, allows us to put money back into the house for projects like these! As a nonprofit, we truly appreciate your support.
