Good afternoon,
Unfortunately, due to the lack of entries and sponsorship, it is not feasible to host a successful 2017 Clay County Golf Classic scheduled for September 23rd & 24th.
The committee would like to thank all of players, sponsors and clubs who have continued to support such a worthy cause.
We plan to regroup as a committee and come back with a reinvigorated event so that we can continue to award these deserving students with the scholarships they need. Please keep on the lookout for emails from us regarding a new event that we hope you will join us for. If anyone would like to join the committee, volunteer, or offer their opinion, please do not hesitate to email or call me.
We did award two new scholarships in May, and still currently have 19 students on scholarship. In August we mailed $17,400 in scholarship payments, with a similar payment set to go out in January.
We are offering full refunds to all players and sponsors, but with the financial obligations we have to fund the scholarships, we will be very appreciative of any player or sponsor that donates what has been submitted to us to the scholarship fund. If you would like to donate all or part of what you have submitted to us please, let us know and I will send a tax receipt for you to use when filing your 2017 tax returns.
Whichever you choose, please email me and let me know, and include your current mailing address for verification.
