Posting from Camille Stearns
As most of you probably already know, the Colonel, JC Nobles, my daddy, went on to rest under the shade of the tree Friday afternoon. His memorial service will be Saturday Nov 22nd around 3pm at the red barn in Old Clinton. Come in uniform if possible. I figured most people would be around for Griswoldville earlier that day anyway. He would love for everyone who can come to attend. Feel free to share this with others outside of the 16th. All are welcome.
Reenacting, and more importantly this regiment, was a big part of his life. He worked hard to make it a place for people to have a fellowship and share in a love of history. He mentored countless people young and not so young. He called many brother. He loved you. I promise you, he loved you. He talked about so many. Some of you who I’ve never met but I know your name. He was so proud of all the work you have put into this regiment.
Now, your job is to continue to make him proud. Honor his memory by representing the 16th in the fashion in which he would have wanted. (Just, you know, try not to get arrested in the process. 😉)
The picture is from the early 80s (I believe 1984ish) and features some of the old dawgs.
