The Fourche Valley Timber Rush
The Fourche LaFave River begins in western Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountains, and threads its way eastward across the state toward the Arkansas River. Sprinkled along this lush valley are some of the state’s finest livestock, and poultry farms. The valley is also home to one of the state’s largest timber production areas. Timber production, and logging are a major part of the culture here.
The rolling terrain in the valley coupled with eons of deposited river bottom soil on the lower slopes of the fractured ouachita rock make this location ideal for growing timber, AND hosting a round of the state’s Hare Scramble Championship Series. The Arkansas Hare Scramble Championship Series is a family friendly motorcycle racing series that boasts classes for racers from all ages and skill levels. The race circuit travels throughout the state. The races are held on Sundays, and with a nominal gate fee fans will enjoy an action packed day of racing fun.
We invite the entire Fourche Valley community to come watch or enter the races. “Meet me in the pines, only the trees to keep us in line.”
