For fans of classic cars, there is some great news in the city of Grand Terrace. For the first time in quite a while, a small group of motivated individuals organized and produced a Grand Terrace Car Show in parking lot in the professional building parking lot by B of A on Barton road in the Grand Terrace. Sponsors include: Woody's Classic Grill, Grand Terrace Smog Center, Auto Zone, Robert Ewing, SoCal Subs, Rob’s Shop, and hosted by the Grand Terrace Lions Club.

Today was a perfect day for Grand Terrace Cars & Coffee to recognize some of our members and businesses who are always there for everything we’re involved in. We’re celebrating our 8th anniversary for Grand Terrace Cars & Coffee. We had 55 vehicles with many new friends and plenty of long-time members who have been with us all along the way.

First up was Chuck William Cecil and his wife Beverly Cecil. His family has always promoted everything we do.

Sam & Stephanie Cereceres signed on for our Santa Claus Toy Drive Cruise in 2021, then joined us for the Blue Mountain Festival & Mickey’s Car Show and everything else we do. While the Mayor and others have tried to pay him for gas for the Fire Engine, he always refuses to accept it.

The next two awards go to Daryl Bruhl and Rob Burleson, they are our longest members and most consistent attendees for our gatherings since 2018. Not to mention Daryl’s always making coffee and Rob helps him with the table set-up.

John Ivan Alonzo and his family stepped in to help with our toy drive sorting and distribution this year and John and Alma were a big part of the Sheriff Substation project making sure we got the best prices on tile work and more. BTW, John stepped up today, when our member Sam and Stephanie’s steering coupler broke in the parking lot. No problem for John, he went got his tools and luckily another member, Chuck Penry had the part to fix the steering coupler. Can’t ask for any more support and willingness to help.

Christy McGuire and Get Loaded Guns and Ammo has been a great supporter and one of the businesses that collects toys for us each year. Christy and Get Loaded Guns & Ammo were the first to step up for the Sheriff Substation project last year.

We can’t do what we do without GT Lions and Ed and Becky Giroux and all the support they have given us. Ed Giroux and Tim Lunstrum have volunteered annually to be the collection vehicle & trailer for our toy drive cruise. Not to mention Santa Claus. Who now has a prominent place on Shad Boals Jeep

We appreciate all the support we’ve received from Mayor Bill Hussey and our City Council, as we had a rough start. Now we can focus on growing and giving back.

Thanks to Michael Miller and Lori Anne Miller at Woody’s Classic Grill for being our sponsor from day one. GT Lions Club for being our host.

We want to thank Elci’s Original Photography for capturing all the pictures today. Elci introduced us to her new group “Pinups for Cancer” and they joined us today. They do many events throughout the year to support those who have or are battling cancer.

We’re looking forward to working with Elci and Pinups for Cancer, as they work together to support cancer survivors and those currently fighting cancer. More on them soon.

Looking forward to a great year. See you next month.

Our second Grand Terrace Cars and Coffee for 2026 is in the books and marking our 8th year. We had a great turnout today with 55 vehicles of all kinds. We presented some Certificates of Appreciation to several people. Three of our first members that helped me start this are still regulars. Mind you we started with 7 cars that day. Daryl Bruhl, Rob Burleson and Guy Portillo first met when we were in the parking lot by Woody's Classic Grill on the Venue side. William Cecil and Beverly Cecil joined us the following year. Ed and Becky Giroux are an important part of our team, as is the GT Lions Club. We're extremely excited about the growth of our event. More details and pictures later. Enjoy all the cool vehicles.

We wanted to share this with our Grand Terrace Cars & Coffee Group and our group members. We're extremely saddened by this news, as we knew this was a passion that Mike Correra had to build this event from 5 vehicles to what it had grown to many times seeing well over 300 vehicles. Please share this information with your friends who may not be on social media platforms.

Since 2017 Riverside Cars and Coffee met every third Sunday of the month at the historic Riverside Auto Center without fail. Riverside Cars and Coffee was a place for community, a place where old friends could meet and new friendships were made, every month all bonding over cool cars and good coffee. The car show was the passion project of Michael Correra who unfortunately passed last year on October 2nd after a hard fight with cancer. The car show then became a place to keep his memory alive. Unfortunately we will no longer convene for circumstances out of our control.
We are very sorry to the cars and coffee family that has grown over the years, we love you all and appreciate you all coming out every third Sunday. This page will now be a memorial for Mike the Car Guy and all the good days shared and a place to remember all the cool cars seen, coffee and donuts enjoyed , and all the people met along the way. We thank you for your support and friendship 👊🏽🔥

We wanted to share the Lions Club and our Boy Scout Troop are hosting the Grand Terrace Pancake Breakfast. Last night Scoutmaster, David Crandell talked about it at the City Council Meeting. We hope you can help support the event, as our troop is raising money for Summer Camp and this year they'd like to camp on Catalina Island.

Well that's scary to think that a city, in this case it's San Clemente California could/would move to ban Cars and Coffee events. Based on comments in the post, it appears they are pushing the Mayor's agenda to revoke the Conditional Use Permit for the Cars and Coffee events. They are citing CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) as there means to do it. Surely we'll be watching this.

Here is the public notice. If we have any followers who are lawyers or familiar with code, I would be very interested to understand why they are doing the following:

"The City Council will also consider whether the project is Categorically Exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301, Class 1(e) (14 CCR §15301, Existing Facilities)."

Grand Terrace Cars & Coffee will once again support the Blue Mountain Festival in May which includes the Parade, GT Lions Club's Mickey’s Car Show, and Light Up GT. Our 7th annual GT C&C Santa Claus Toy Drive Cruise is December 5th 2026 (Thanks to those who have confirmed already) There may be other events we’re asked to participate in, and we will update you when we have information on those.

Thanks to all of you again, for your support and making Grand Terrace Cars & Coffee a great place to connect with friends, and car loving people. Not to mention your willingness to help give back to our community.

Looking for a great turnout January 17th for our first gathering for 2026.
