This event is in memory of Amelia B. Wilson who received an organ donation early in life from John Cody Conley. This amazing gift gave her decades more to become a beloved member of her community.

Welcome to Wrexham!...Uh, I mean Grand Rivers!

When I was asked to direct Amelia's Run, I immediately said yes.

Why?

Because I was BULLDOZED by the warmth of this small town (Grand Rivers), and how many people were so affected by Amelia while she was alive.

This is the America I love.

In case you haven't seen the hit TV show "Welcome to Wrexham", it looks like a show about a building up a struggling soccer team... but it's not about that at all. It's really about a small town with a massive broken heart, and the journey of healing.

That's why I took this job, because I fell in love with a town who lost someone very special to them, and when you run this race you feel that. The wonderful people of Grand Rivers want you to be there.

Every year, they even declare the day of the race a holiday in their town...
It's called Amelia's Day.

Put your money where your heart is! Registration is now open for Amelia’s Run, to be held on October 26th, at 8am.

This run is an important fundraiser in honor of a very special person, Amelia Brown Wilson. She was an organ donor recepient early in life, and a cherished figure in Western Kentucky, working as a field representative for US Congressman Comer. Her life was taken tragically soon at the age of 39 from cancer that only affects transplant recipients.

This race is also a part of the WKYRunners Triple Crown Challenge. If you participated in the Freedom 5/10k, and Big Bad Wolf 5k, make sure you sign up for this to receive your special award!
