Drummers (and those interested in learning) - WE NEED YOU!

Saturday, May 23rd at 3pm at Fountain Street Church (3rd Floor Courtyard) will be the first gathering of the Tambore Oxumare, the drumming group that will be featured at the Pride Celebration following worship on June 7th, with The GR Singing Resistance.

Saturday, May 30th at 3pm another session/rehearsal will happen in the sanctuary. All are welcome!

This is an open drumming community for Q***r (LGBTQIA+) and Allies to show Pride, make noise and march for Good Causes. No experience is required. We don't even care if you have rhythm. You belong here.

We invite you to join us at Fountain Street Church this Memorial Day for a brief public service of remembrance and honor.

On Monday at 12:00 noon, in the Memorial Tower Room, the 289 names etched on the wall will be read aloud. Each was a Kent County resident who gave their life in World War I.
The reading will be followed by a moment of silence and the pealing of the tower bells.

The Memorial Tower Room represents a public monument in our city signifying the terrible cost of that war.

The stories of 19 of these individuals will be shared in detail through a booklet created by church historians and members of the communications committee.

The Tower will remain open throughout the day on Memorial Day for all who wish to visit, reflect, and pay their respects.
Your presence would be a meaningful contribution to this act of collective remembrance.

Join us this Pentecost Sunday as virtuoso brilliance and spiritual depth converge. Fountain Street Church welcomes musical guests Concertato Michigan, Danielle Belen, and Angela Lee to the 11:00am service.

Under the leadership of Dr. Martin Werner, Concertato Michigan will perform a fusion of two pieces. Concerto Grosso in D minor Op. 3 by Vivaldi and "Fratres" by Arvo Part are very different in nature, but you will discover a mysterious synergy between them.

Danielle Belen, violin professor at the University of Michigan, and her student, Angela Lee, will be violin soloists.

Fountain Streeters Kohl Weisman and Claire Schweizer sing at FSC Sunday 5/17 at 3p in “La Bohème” with the West Michigan Opera Project, the Kalamazoo Philharmonia, and the Kalamazoo Children's Chorus!

It’s a tragic opera about a group of young, poor artists and friends living in Paris and the love story between the poet Rodolfo and the seamstress Mimì. It’s one of the most famous operas ever written.
